Keen gravel, and bike packing pensioner 68, also regularly rides off piste mountain bike trails, mostly on Thursday nights with mates throughout the year. Also do some hiking and wild camping. Love exploring, seeing new places, and meeting interesting people. I also now love taking my grandchildren for small rides and walks teaching them a bit of outdoor survival skills.

Gravel Ride Bolton to Chorley 34m

Starting from Bolton station following cycleways, disused railways to near Worsley then picking up the Bridgewater canal, stopping around 16miles at the Hide cafe Pennington Flash. Then back onto the canal joining the Wigan Leigh branch then the Leeds Liverpool canal before picking up another disused railway line to take us through Haigh Hall before again rejoining the canal. Then another diversion onto a disused railway line route 55 near Adlington before finally finishing on the canal to Chorley Station.
