About Franz-Josef

Man wolle testen, was am besten ankommt.

Today the not very long round (parts of the path closed due to construction work) in spring, where almost everything is blooming and green, including the Schwarzbach and the municipal grill hut as well as a detour to the viewing platform in the NSG Silbersee. Start / finish is the parking lot, the first and last station is the kiosk.

Start and finish in the Ratingen marketplace. Today I just walked freely without a plan and sometimes went unknown ways (without a map) and the result, I think, is impressive. The first goal was the "Haus zum Haus" moated castle with its water-filled moat and the Pönsgenpark, a few meters behind it, with subsequent biotope. Then it went up the Angertal along the Kalkbahn tracks, past the stairs to the leisure facility "Blauer See" (including miniature golf course, fairy tale forest, natural stage Blauer See) towards Eggerscheidt. At some point then turned left into the forest and walked through it in the direction of Eggerscheidt, kept right in front of Eggerscheidt and past the E. Friedhof down to the Auermühle in the Angertal. Here down the valley past the paper mill and lime kiln to the Cromford Industrial Museum. From here back to the city center with a little swerve to the eastern tip of the Pönsgenpark. In the city center made a detour through the moat in front of the remains of the old city wall to the arcade courtyard and from there down Oberstrasse to the market square. In the end, I ran more than I expected myself.

I recently found the prospectus for the A9 hiking route and went today, but extended it to include the Auermühle and paper mill. About 2/3 are asphalt, 1/3 are solid farm roads, also in the NSG Angertal. At the highest point of the route there is a great view of Wülfrath / Velbert and on the other side to Düsseldorf and the Rhine plain.

At the place with the impressive single tree (there are 2, which you can only see up close) you have a fantastic view and in clear weather, like today far in the south, you can still see the shadowy mountains of the Eifel and Siebengebirge, maybe. also Westerwald. The owners of the 2 little paradises in the Stindertal (street Am Näsenberg) can only congratulate amn for this. And even cloth gloves grow on trees here.

In this forest even the birds have house numbers, but one of them lives in seclusion (without a number). Do you spot the blackbird on the caller? nice, the couple who sit a few meters away and bathe in the sun with a hot drink, at zero degrees.
