Only for those with legs of steel and a fondness of the rough stuff! If you finish the main rides of the day, and want more riding, this new extra loop will take you over to the west side of Consiton water via a class Lake District mountain bike descent, into the wild moorlands behind Torver. You’ll

Both the shorter and longer routes start the day again meandering through gravel tracks of Grizedale Forest up to Moor Top, before the long route cuts down on to a bridleway (8km) for a steep, lose descent into Hawkshead (10km). From basecamp, head into Grizedale Forest with a descent climb to start the day, sticking mostly to the lovely gravel tracks that weave around the forest and following the same route as the Long Option to begin with, before (10.7km) to say hi to our SITW crew!

From here, you’ll follow the same route

The longer and a bit-rougher ride option for Friday. A 60km-ish figure of 8 loop, with plenty of bridleways and singletrack options.

Starting from basecamp, it’s straight into a climb that will bring you up on to the smooth gravel roads of Grizedale Forest where you’re legs will get warmed up for the
