🥾 Today I was out and about in Drover Heide. First of all: who of you has hiked here before?Sure, at this time of the year the heather no longer blooms, but despite everything I really liked the tour.
It was sunny, the forest sections were covered with a beautiful carpet of leaves and here and there you discovered a mushroom at the edge of the path 😍Speaking of which: it was a nice encounter. When I got to the parking lot (you can find the exact details at @kommoot) a lady was just finishing her tour and proudly carried a huge paper bag in front of her. "You don't have mushrooms in there?" I asked. "Would you like to see?" She laughed, holding the bag at me: It was certainly a kilo of porcini mushrooms that she picked in the heather 😉

I chose the HeimatSpur Lavaweg. A nearly ten kilometer long circular hiking trail from Deudesfeld, which shows the typical characteristics of the Vulkaneifel. A white LW sign in a green square marks the way.I park my car at the starting parking lot and from there take a gravel path uphill to the plateau. Here it goes towards the lava pit and past it over the Jungeland up the Maarsattel. There is a fantastic wide view of the Eifel, which should accompany me for most of the tour. But it's hot and the dusty landscape is electrified.DO YOU KNOW THESE FILM SCENES FROM OLD WESTERN STRIPES? IN WHICH A BURNING BUSH BLOWS FROM ONE EDGE TO THE OTHER? YES EXACTLY. IT'S SO HOT!😅
