We hiked with a baby (10 months) and a backpack carrier. Frequent short breaks meant the hike took a total of 2.5 hours. The hike is easy to manage if you are fairly fit (I am hardly trained). I hiked in sneakers; in my opinion hiking boots are not necessary in dry weather. Have fun!
