Parque Tepuhueico | Zona Bosque (Forest)
The park has 2 zones: the Zona Bosque (forest, this one), and Zona Costa (coast). Both have different entrances, which are about half an hour away by car. Access: from the main road (where a bus can drop you off). Theres no public transport to the entrance of the park, 8 km away. However, people going up there take a hitchhikers easily. Entrance: entrance fee (to be checked), you have to sign up when you enter and the Rangers there are very friendly and helpful even if you don’t speak Spanish then try to make you understand what you need to know (ask me to translate for example for another guy). Paths: there’s a number of different possible tracks in the park, and the paths are super indicated and taking care of very well. There are coloured marks along the way which correspond to the colours of the path on the map and you have indications along the way of how far you’ve gotten. Their in fact a will mark that the moment you start to think the path has gotten a bit difficult. You can be sure you have to turn around and return to the main path. You don’t have phone reception within the park (only and Mark spots), so it’s a good idea to download the map beforehand and/or take a picture of the one at the entrance.
