Easy hike on good nature trails. Despite the dryness and warmth, a pleasant route, mostly in the shade.
The café / kiosk in the manor currently only offers drinks, kitchens and ice cream with self-service. Relaxed atmosphere in the inner courtyard, partly shady places under trees. There you can also eat the bread you have brought with you.

A quiet tour to protect my stubborn ankle and my older dog John. We saw a lot of wild boar tracks and a rick that looked at us carefully. The Ponyhof Ebental is a popular destination for younger children. Adults lead the children's ponies on a marked route through the meadows. There is also a simple restaurant and a natural, small campsite.

A varied morning round in the Mainz Neustadt. Since speed 30 has been on the Rheinallee and Kaiserstraße for a few days and the holidays have started, there was only a little quiet traffic. So you can also enjoy a city walk.On the way back on the corner of Hindenburgstraße / Josefsstraße there is an impressive architectural highlight, the new synagogue. It stands at the place where the original synagogue was destroyed during the Nazi era. A few columns with capitals stand on the square in front of the main entrance. If you are looking for a baker at an early hour, you will find it in Forsterstraße. The shop opens at 6:15 a.m. Approx. There are benches for a short rest and a toilet 50 meters further on the Frauenlobplatz. Those who leave later will find a small bistro in and in front of the organic shop "Naturally" in Josefsstraße from 8:00 a.m. Mon-Fri, the employees there also offer a homemade vegetarian / vegan soup.

The towpath between Walluf and Eltville is also popular with joggers, cyclists and many dog owners. In order to enjoy the atmosphere on the river and the natural small beaches, I usually run it in the early morning. On the way back and on warm days I go back along the shady bike path under trees next to the country road. The hike can also be easily extended to the Schierstein port. Those who like to watch storks can often observe small groups there. On this route the bus 171 goes to Wiesbaden main station.

An ideal short tour in Wiesbaden-Biebrich to play search and retrieve games with the dogs in the early morning. For free, there is the rustling of the leaves in the wind, the twittering of birds, the view of the mountain pasture and the passing cargo ships. To the west, the Schiersteiner bridge spans the Rhine. Little by little you can watch the progress of the new building from here.

A varied tour in the southern part of the castle park with shady and sunny paths, open views and the fountain. The traditional Wiesbaden Pentecost tournament is usually held in this area in May. And in the eastern side wing of the castle is a small cinema hall. In pre-Corona times, "films in the castle" were regularly shown there. 🎬Those who like to make a small detour for a good ice cream can reach the ice cream parlor on Rheinuferstraße via the connecting alley. From midday onwards, there is usually a queue in front of the ice cream counter. 🍦🍨 The other side of the street is ideal for enjoying ice cream. Behind a high hedge are benches and steps to the Rhine. From there on the banks of the Rhine, at the height of the castle, there is a small fountain dedicated to animal welfare. Carlo loves to splash around in detail 🛁 🙂For music lovers the house next to the bus stop "Am Schloß" may be interesting. There Richard Wagner worked on the "Meistersinger".

The castle park in Wiesbaden-Biebrich is not just the destination or start for the Rheinsteig. It is also ideal for relaxing walks, picnics or small training hikes with a dog (on a leash).Today we were more in the north-western areas with somewhat remote meadows, on the duck pond, on a small hill and on large stones. There you can make excellent search games and let a young, excited dog find its way back through nose work.At the end there was a short bath in the stream for Carlo and for me a crispy cheese roll from a Biebricher bakery.
