About Punta Ala Trail Center
The Punta Ala Trail Center is a bike resort located directly on the Tuscan seaside in the heart of the Maremma region. It hosted the very first edition of the Enduro World Series in 2013, along with numerous other events dedicated to enduro, cross-country and gravel biking, making it arguably one of the most renowned bike destinations in Italy. The operational base is situated within the PuntAla Camp & Resort, which offers a wide range of accommodations nestled in lush greenery, shaded by a beautiful pine forest, just steps from a pristine beach. The resort also provides services such as guided tours, shuttle assistance, bike rental, a workshop, bike washing facilities, and much more, making it a perfect base for all biking enthusiasts.
A short distance from the base, riders can access some of the area's most famous singletracks, as well as gravel and cross-country routes ideal also for e-bikes, that stretch from the coast into the countryside and the hills surrounding the resort.
The Punta Ala Trail Center is a true paradise for biking enthusiasts.

Sunset Hike to Cala Violina with Sea Dip

This is a loop hike of approx. 8km, with 190 m of ascent and 180 m of descen. It’s a scenic and moderately easy trail through Mediterranean woodland, leading to one of Tuscany’s most iconic beaches — Cala Violina — with the added bonus of a sunset swim. The route starts at the Punta Ala Camp & Resort and follows the “Sentiero delle Api”, a shaded forest path through dense Mediterranean scrub, with gentle rolling terrain and a mostly compact dirt surface. After roughly 4 km, you’ll reach Cala Violina, located in the Bandite di Scarlino Nature Reserve — accessible only on foot or by bike. Cala Violina is renowned for its fine, white quartz sand, which emits a soft violin-like sound when walked on. It's the perfect spot for a quick swim around sunset before beginning the return. The way back takes a shorter, more panoramic trail with some steeper gradients and exposed sections, offering sweeping views over Cala Civette, the Gulf of Follonica, and the coastline near PuntAla Camp & Resort. Trail surface: compact dirt, natural rock, light gravel. Level: easy Gear: trail or hiking shoes, swimwear, water, headlamp (for late return), insect repellent.

A unique route that includes 'The Guardian' and 'Torretta,' two historic trails a stone's throw from the sea on which the strongest Italian enduro riders have passed.

An itinerary suitable for everyone, thanks to the limited difference in altitude and low technical difficulty. It is recommended to pay attention to the entrance of the path that leads to the panoramic point.
