And in the afternoon, we went for a short loop through the Arnies Nature Trail. Unfortunately, the ascent was completely overgrown, so we had to struggle through nettles, among other things.
On the other hand, the flowers along the path were very impressive: for example, the bee orchid or the yellow flag iris.

On the Vounitrail it went steeply through the vineyards, with the rain at the end soaking us a bit. The grapevines looked very interesting and one or two orchids could also be found along the path (Mastorchis, Ragwurz).

Here it went along the Cedar-Valley, although I had expected more at the beginning. But once at the top at the Branda viewing platform, it really looked almost like a primeval forest and at this altitude, the longed-for Cyprus cedar finally grew.

The tour today went again over airy heights with views: e.g. to the northern coast. The botany was exciting, this time there were also isolated blooming orchids to be seen, but most flowers still need some time. Very nice tour!

The Artemis Trail is probably the highest (proper) circular hiking trail on the island of Cyprus, around Mount Olympus. The trail, located at an altitude of over 1800m, offers beautiful views over the island. At the moment, the actually quite short hike is made more difficult by the snow that is still lying here.
