Cross-country skiing
Start in sunshine at minus 7°. After the long descent to Vemdalsskalet the fog rolled down to the valley and the final 3,5 kilometres I faced humid, chilly -15°C. All in all the track was good. Fine frosted forests. Long, strenuous uphill portions. January silence. If you follow look up and take in the scenery. The goal was Jaktstugan, to enjoy the waffles, a warm fireplace and wide views. Check opening days. Wednesday to Sunday. I found it closed and had my lunch postponed. For return journey to Vemdalsskalet, avoid the western route, if you are moving on xcountryskies. It ends in the famous Hildings backe, suitable for slalom skiing. After my late lunch, I forgot to record the final track home. Another 3,5 km. The cold was rather disturbing, especially since my eye lashes were adorned with small ice pearls.
