In glorious sunshine, it was exactly the right hike today (for Women's Day 😉) - a nice, relaxed tour through an idyllic landscape. White-tailed eagles, herons, various species 🦆 and flora awakening from hibernation made the time interesting and varied. The area is also very easy to explore by bike. It is worth visiting at different times of the year.

A nice round on Sunday - when the paths are no longer as muddy from the thawing snow or so slippery because of the snow, then it is still steep, but definitely much less strenuous 😉☀️

Nice round. But Komoot seems to have only recorded very sparingly, they were certainly more than 10 kilometers. If you know the area, you can easily imagine where you walked.

We had a plan for the day. It should be 50 km again ... The weather thwarted our plans to take an unknown route from Bautzen to Kamenz and let us choose well-known (bike) paths. A varied, interesting and very scenic tour, which Komoot has unfortunately not fully recorded (it is actually 45.1 km) - the last 5 km in the dark 😏.

So far, none of my tours has earned the title "bike hike" more than this one. I was able to experience the limits of my 27 year old trekking bike several times. And that on a pilgrimage 😂.
In preparation for my next "self-organized" MM with Peggy, I just wanted to "quickly" follow the shell the 50 km from Görlitz to Bautzen in order to be able to assess the route. It turned out that this part of the pilgrimage route is actually mostly very beautiful and worth seeing, but also very demanding in one piece. The ascent to the Hochstein, the descent over the Teufelstein, long asphalt stretches and sometimes very impassable sections through the (really very beautiful) Gröditzer Skala are quickly forgotten when you can enjoy the beautiful nature. The viewpoints on the Hochstein and the moated castle Döbschütz are definitely worth a short break. If you want to stop by, you can do so wonderfully in Weißenberg on the market square ("Toro").
