Einer der schönsten Wanderroute im Harz. Von hinten ins Tal hinab.. entlang am Fluss..bis zum steilen Aufstieg. Aber VORSICHT… wir wurden fast von einem herabfallenden Fels erschlagen. Das waren Millimeter am sicheren Tot vorbei. Dadurch das wir die Wanderung von hinten begonnen haben, waren die Warnschilder leider erst zum Schluss da. Ob die nun mehr Vorsicht geboten hätten, sei mal dahingestellt. Also bitte immer mit entsprechenden wachsamen Auge die Strecke laufen. Ich feiere an dem Tag, für immer, mein zweiten Geburtstag. Eine super Wanderung durch einen schönen Wald zur Festung Regenstein. Unheimlich tolle Wege und einem besonderen Weg zurück durch eine super schöne Schlucht, hinunter. Es lohnt sich 😃

We actually planned to do a short hike around the mountain. But then we passed a sign for "To the Brocken" and spontaneously took that path. The trail is very crowded with hikers, which isn't ideal. A truly great ride with beautiful views. You'll need either a good battery or a good level of fitness, though. The climbs are not easy, and the downhills put a lot of strain on the brakes. It feels like you can ride for 20 minutes without pedaling. 😉

The first 8-10 km are along or on a road. That's a shame, because there are some great trails off the beaten track. The last 10-15 km, however, are fantastic. Coincidentally, the trail leads directly past Wilhelm Busch's (poet Max & Moritz) grave. There's also an exhibition in his old home. Truly great.
