Mostly downhill and only interrupted by a few steep climbs, the Ilmtal cycle path meanders from Ilmenau to Weimar. We continue the rest of the cycle path to the confluence of the Ilm and Saale in Großheringen when the weather is more stable again.

A wonderful start to the Ilmtal cycle path: due to the 400 m downhill, you have to be careful not to rush past the beautiful landscape and the towns of Stützerbach and Manebach. ;-)

Spontaneously planned tours are the best, and there had to be a balance to the big summer tour that had been canceled. My premiere on the ICE to Berlin Südkreuz with a bicycle was also successful (ok, except for the brackets, which are not suitable for front wheel forks with lowriders).
