Stage 4: Lalkhori to Ushguli – Svanetia Trekking
Prettier walk than most blogs would suggest! I would recommend the detour up to Ushguli castle but I wouldn’t recommend copying my route for it - grass and off trail most of the ascent, incredibly steep descent. Refer to maps.me

Khalde to Lalkhori
Great coffee spot / chill zone at the entrance to Khalde which felt much needed as this is an exposed trek when the sun is hot.

Adishi to Lalkhori
Some very muddy places (but still passable
In running trainers if you’re not too precious) a couple of springs to fill water. Stopped the route here to have a much appreciated ice coffee, new recording to finish the day. Recommend staying at guesthouse Robinson Lalkhori.

Mestia to Adishi
Gorgeous gorgeous route. Wildflowers everywhere. Plenty of places to fill your water. I found this much easier and faster than most resources suggest (in July).
The second half (Day 2 for those who take this’s as a 4 days walk) is my favourite.

Long way to the waterfall, some GR11
Amazing views. Some dicey scrambling, multiple small waterfall crossings, a little area of via Ferrata. Trusted the cairns to suggest least dangerous routes. Of course the big waterfall is not possible to cross safely so this had to be out-and-back

Beautiful Hike Ordesa
Shaded steep ascent, great beer stop in the rifugio, some via ferrata descent. Leave time to enjoy the river and waterfalls on the way down - we did not!
