Since the Francés valley was still closed due to bad weather we could only do the first bit of the trail. Nonetheles beautiful. From Francés to Central we walked down to the shore of Lago Nordenskiöld and then upphill after Los Cuernos campsite. Then we left Lago Nordenskiöld behind and traversed along

Another easy day due to the fact that the path to the Frances valley was closed due to rain and storm. We went straight to Frances camp instead. The path follows along Lago Sköttsberg with some nice views on Cerro Paine Grande. For the last bit, the path was pretty much flooded.

Relatively easy 11k with some elevation. Some great lookout spots on Grey Glacier. Later the paths takes a turn and goes along Laguna Los Patos. The last 1,5k go through a valley with Lake Pehoe and Paine Grande camp at the end of it.

The first 4k are the ascent to John Gardner pass. First through forest, later over a scree field. We had extremely windy conditions and some snow. Breathtaking views over the valley and the Grey glacier. After the descent the paths follows along the glacier with magnificent views.
