As nice as driving in the snow is, it remains dangerous! After the front wheel slipped twice, I preferred not to take the planned descent on the forest roads to Wilhelmsthal. The lanes were icy and deep snow lay between the lanes.

We didn't have a real plan today. But at the end of the new cycle path after and in Gifting, the sun was more likely towards Grösau. When we arrived there, we saw some rays dancing on the treetops through the fog on the hills between Neuhaus and Stockheim. That was the goal then. On the Frankenwaldsteigla "Im Kohlenwald" it was literally over hill and dale on leafy paths and along the former border towards Neuhaus. Idyllic location: Minna pit (see picture). Past Burggrub (mostly on paved bike paths) we went home again. In the forest, the cool 2 degrees could not be felt, but on the bike paths it was. Oh yes: we didn't catch the sun today.

NASA: Fog - Asphalt - Single Trail - Adventure
All of this was there today. 2 degrees in the shade, but almost no wind. On the surrounding hills, over 400 meters, the hoar frost stuck to the bare trees and bushes. With the right equipment, a tour is a lot of fun even on a day like this - especially since I was accompanied again this time. I wanted to avoid mud and mud forest roads in the Franconian Forest today (then prefer to use asphalt). The trails in the Kronach fortress forest are short but nice. The “single” trail between Fischbach and Wötzelsdorf is to be taken literally: no two MTBs fit next to each other! Wonderfully idyllic in every season! Adventure was also there: we didn't know some of the ways off the beaten track (e.g. I've never been to Wurbach in my life)!November 26, 2020

Fog and a cool three degrees invited for a short tour. (In the sunshine everyone can ...) Today only one cyclist could be seen; the others must have been swallowed by the fog 🙈. Wonderfully steep uphill after the last house in Gschwend (Geschwend) towards Hesselbach.

Were these still “paths” or just aisles? The whole mountain seems to consist only of roots - at least away from the silted forest roads 🐗🦉🐿🦔.November 22, 2020
