Stunning views but small paths with no waymarks. Need to be surefooted. If you are coming down this route be sure to turn right out of the gully where shown in the GPS or you will end up at the top of a precipice (or a waterfall if it's raining). Turn off is not marked.

A lot of very steep climbing. No waymarks. Not recommended unless you are very surefooted and fit. I thought it would be easier than the routes from the south as less altitude gain is required but it was exhausting.

The early part of the walk from Lac Vert to the Refuge de Chatelet is rather boring, but after that it there are good view - no doubt better in good weather!

A lot of good views for minimum ascent. Distant views of Mont Blanc. Could extend and get to the Swiss border.
