The San Basilio neighborhood is one of the oldest in the city of Córdoba, it is currently known as the Barrio de los Patios Cordobeses but this was not always the case. The neighborhood of San Basilio, also known as the Alcazar Viejo, was planned in 1399 to shelter the crossbowmen who defended the Alcazar Real de los Reyes Cristianos, built on the banks of the river.

They are a set of stables built in 1570 by order of the monarch Felipe II in the city of Córdoba, with the aim of breeding purebred Spanish horses, which would be the origin of the so-called Andalusian horse.
Currently they present the spectator with a show, a perfect combination of elements of classical and Andalusian horsemanship, manual work, dressage, high school, horsewoman, pole chase... connecting it with the equestrian history and tradition of the city.
