The dairy was built in 1794/95 at the same time as the Pfaueninsel Palace as a "jewelry farm". The exterior of the building is reminiscent of a ruined monastery. On the first floor of the dairy there is a stable where dairy cows were housed.

Peacock Island is worth a visit, out of the question. The ensemble is unique for a big city. And at the same time, the big city is nowhere so far away as in this Havel region. But for the moment as a note: the castle is in a longer reco phase. And thus completely scaffolded with tarpaulins. Which is expected to last until the end of 2024. Photos of the castle are not so productive. And otherwise: If you can make it possible, the best time to visit the island is on a weekday, early in the morning. There are enough parking spaces nearby. It fills up quickly on weekends. The access with the BVG is not a problem. On weekdays it is sometimes the case that early in the morning you still "have the island to yourself". Which of course is ideal for photos.
