The monastery Klein-Mariazell was originally a Benedictine abbey in the monastery settlement of Klein-Mariazell in the market town of Altenmarkt an der Triesting in Lower Austria. After the monastery was abolished in 1782 and the former monastery building was largely demolished in 1964, after more than 200 years of interruption in the 2000s, the monastic tradition was resumed by the construction of a new monastery building. The remains of the former monastery building are under monument protection.
Under the babenberg margrave Leopold III. the saint Klosterneuburg Abbey, Heiligenkreuz Abbey and Klein-Mariazell Abbey were founded.
