The Kulturhaus Insel Berlin, idyllically located on the Insel der Jugend, offers a wonderful retreat right on the Spree. The Inselgarten is a particular highlight, a spacious beer garden that is open on warm days. Here you can enjoy the atmosphere right on the water with a freshly tapped beer, a coffee or an Aperol. The surrounding boat rentals contribute to the relaxed atmosphere, while the historic Abbey Bridge forms a charming backdrop.

The Kulturhaus is also a lively event venue. Whether concerts, readings or film evenings in the summer cinema - the program is varied and attracts a mixed audience. Especially in summer, the Inselgarten becomes a popular meeting place where you can choose between cultural offerings and relaxed moments on the water. Despite all these amenities, it remains to be seen whether the range of events really works as seamlessly as planned, as large events can often reach organizational limits.

A visit is definitely worth it, especially if you fancy a little break in the countryside without having to leave the city. The mixture of nature, culture and gastronomy makes the Kulturhaus Insel Berlin a special place in the capital, but how the island will shape its future remains exciting. It is a fantastic retreat in the middle of the big city. Simply sitting there, a cold beer in your hand, and watching who or what is passing by on the Spree is an experience in itself. Whether paddle boats, comfortable pedal boats or smaller excursion steamers - the colorful hustle and bustle on the water always offers something to see.

However, it must be said that there are often long queues at the drinks counter. The waiting times are sometimes a bit annoying - I secretly admire how quickly things always work in Bavarian beer gardens.

Another insider tip is the friendly boat rental right next to the Kulturhaus. There are not only canoes here, but also very special aluminum pedal boats that look like small motorboats from the 60s. These charming boats give the whole setting a nostalgic flair and make the trip on the Spree something very special.
