The Geul (Limburgish Gäöl, German: Göhl, French: Gueule, old names: Gullo (922), Guel and Goel (15th century), and Gule) is a river with multiple sources in the municipality of Raeren in Belgium at the Zyklopensteine on the German border, near the town of Lichtenbusch. It leaves Belgium at Sippenaeken and enters the Netherlands at Cottessen. At the hamlet of Voulwames, above Itteren, it flows into the Meuse. The average discharge of the Geul is approximately 4 m³/s.

General
The Geul is 58 kilometers long and has a total drop of approximately 250 meters. Former canals have been or are being removed since the beginning of the 21st century, allowing the river to follow its original course and once again meanders naturally through the South Limburg landscape.
