Estrada Costeira B8043 – Península de Morvern

The B8043 serves the remote Kingairloch Estate, and is a quiet and scenic alternative to the A884 and A861 on the Morvern Peninsula.

It's one of the best sections of road cycling in the area with a thrilling rollacoaster-style descent crossing open moorland from Loch Uisge to Loch a' Choire. These lochs are linked by Abhainn na Coinnich, a pretty river which runs parallel to the quiet road.

The road drops down to the shore of Loch Linnhe offering spectacular views across the water. From Camasnacroise to Kilmalieu, the road winds flat along a hillside ledge.

The remaining northeast section of the road leaves the loch shore and climbs up to skirt through woodland then open moorland. The climb rewards with beautiful views north out across Loch Linnhe to the Corran Narrows, and south down the firth of Lorne to Lismore and beyond.
