Sobre Alice Baddeley
Long-distance cycle touring in the UK is my biggest passion, especially when it’s built around a theme or a slightly ridiculous set of rules. In 2021, I cycled 1000 miles through every city, town and village in Sussex. In 2022, I rode around the entire coastline of Britain in 80 days. And in 2023, I cycled the length of Britain in as straight a line as possible.

Leaving Tulla, the East Clare Way continues north through rolling farmland and on quiet lanes, offering a day of changing scenery and gentle solitude.
The route begins with a gradual descent out of the village, skirting past new houses before the landscape opens into a wide patchwork of fields and peat

The section from Flagmount to Whitegate crosses the northern slopes of the Slieve Aughty Mountains and marks the highest and most exposed portion of the East Clare Way. Beginning in Flagmount village, the trail climbs steeply up Knockbeha Mountain on a grass path above Lough Graney.
