At 225 m, the dragon's tail bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Europe; was built in connection with the BUGA 2007 in Gera and Ronneburg as part of the remediation of the former uranium ore mining area of SDAG Wismut; crosses the Gessental and connects two areas of the Neue Landschaft Ronneburg; next to the Schmirchauerhöhe with the pit light and the Lichtenberger edges the most striking building;

At 225 m, the Dragon's Tail is the longest wooden bridge in Europe. The pedestrian bridge in Ronneburg, Thuringia, was built for the 2007 Federal Horticultural Show and inaugurated on August 4, 2006. The Dragon's Tail Bridge in Ronneburg, Thuringia, will be closed for extensive renovation work starting Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The Gessental cycle path beneath the bridge will remain open and will be protected by scaffolding. Construction work is scheduled to be completed by the end of November 2025.
