    The present stone church in Lønborg replaced an older wooden church adjacent to the old royal estate—the predecessor of today's Lønborggård farm. The church has had a turbulent history, having been owned by both the king, the Bishop of Ribe, and privately. The chancel and nave are Romanesque in style, while the annexes are Gothic. In the 15th century, the chancel and nave were vaulted.
    Lønborg Church is primarily known for its frescoes, which were painted in three different styles over a period of 70 years. Among the motifs are the Sacrifice of Isaac, the Baptism of Jesus, a classic scene of the Last Judgment, and works by the so-called "Lily Master."
    Lønborg Church enjoys a rare, beautiful and striking location, rising from a hill overlooking the valley of the Skjern Å River.

      This so-called “hiking trail” is a disgrace! At the start of the hiking tour I was in good spirits, but then I was more than disappointed. Over every meter the path became more of a boggy mud road. We had to jump from dry spot to dry spot. These dry patches became increasingly rare until we finally encountered a sea of mud. At that moment, with soaking wet feet and no hope whatsoever, we decided to turn back. Our shoes ended up being baked in the oven in the hope that they would ever dry again. Because of this, I can under no circumstances recommend this Komoot recommendation that insults the hiking trail!
      P.S. It's best to take the route without an annoying mother and in a wetsuit and rubber boots.
