        The branch church of Frankenhof was first mentioned in 1323 as belonging to the Kastl monastery. A note from 1649 states that "the little red church in Frankenhof" is a popular place of pilgrimage dedicated to the 14 Holy Helpers.
        Between 1733 and 1735 the church was rebuilt. With the consecration of 1739, the patron saint changed to St. Margareta, one of the three women among the Holy Helpers. In 1803 the church was to be demolished in the course of secularization because it was too expensive to maintain. Pastor Edmund Dorfner from Illschwang was able to show the Sulzbacher Rentamt that because of the size of the parish with 40 villages, the chapel would be indispensable if the church in Illschwang were to burn down.
        Worth seeing:
        The altar and pulpit date from 1882. Since then, a picture of St. Margaret has adorned the altar. The earlier altarpiece is now on the southern side wall.
