    The terracotta facade of the Upper Bavarian government building is 180 meters long and up to 29 meters high. It was designed by the architect Friedrich Brücklein, who designed the entire Maximilianstrasse in the characteristic neo-Gothic "Maximilian style." The foundation stone was laid on the 45th birthday of the client, King Maximilian II, on November 28, 1856.
