      The Flootsmühle is a former watermill in Nettetal-Hinsbeck, located on the Nette, with an undershot water wheel.
      The mill on the old Roman road was first mentioned in a Grenzweisum from 1556 "ghet aen op Vloevarts muelen". The names and spellings of the mill were also "Vlovartse-", "Florts-", "Fluerts-", up to "Flootsmühle" today. The mill had belonged to Count Schaesberg since 1706 and was operated as a grain mill. The mill was closed in 1875. Today there is a small, neat residential building here. The current pilgrim cross in the front garden is a traditional resting place for Kevelaer pilgrims. It stands in the place of an older cross that was set up centuries ago for an injured carter.

                          The Flootsmühle belongs to Wankum/Wachtendonk municipality. A short section of the North Canal east of Jülicher Straße also belongs to the Wachtendonk municipality. The Nette (bridge) forms the (district/municipality) border between Hinsbeck/Nettetal (VIE) and Wankum/Wachtendonk (KLE). At the same time, Herongen/Straelen also borders Nettetal and Wachtendonk west of Jülicher Straße at the border triangle.
