History: Around 1844, the fjord was to be contained by a dam and the northern area drained. The idea behind it was Sören Hansen Bagge. This was implemented around 1860 by his son.

The very nice tour leads along and over the fjord from Søndervig to Ringkøbing and is much easier to ride than the cycle path that runs directly along the road.
