Standort und Geschichte: Der Lindenbach, auf dem Oberlauf im Wald Talgraben, am Unterlauf nach Besen Lachengraben genannt, ist ein fast 11 Kilometer langer rechter Zufluss der Glems in Ditzingen im Landkreis Ludwigsburg im mittleren Baden-Württemberg.
Die Quelle des Lindenbachs liegt auf rund 476 m ü. NHN nahe am Schloss Solitude im Gebiet der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart. Er durchfließt zunächst lange im Wald als Talgraben in nordöstlicher Richtung durch das Lindental bis zum östlichen Ortsrand des Stadtbezirks Weilimdorf. Dort wendet er sich vor dem westlichen Teil des Lemberg-Rückens in lange verdoltem Lauf kurz nach Westen und dann nach Nordwesten bis zum Umspannwerk südlich des Grünen Heiners.
Der Lindenbach entwässert ein Gebiet von 26,6 km². Die Quelle und der erste Teil des Oberlaufs nach Nordosten liegen, naturräumlich gesehen, im Unterraum Glemswald-Randhöhen von Schönbuch und Glemswald. Danach durchläuft er bis zum Knick bei Weilimdorf, den Unterraum Südlicher Strohgäurand des Neckarbeckens, der Bach grenzt dabei östlich teils hart an den Unterraum Feuerbachbucht der Stuttgarter Bucht. Nach dem Wechsel auf westlichen bis nordwestlichen Lauf tritt er vor Ditzingen in den Unterraum Langes Feld des Neckarbeckens über.
Versteckt und nur den Einheimischen bekannt, schlängelt sich im Südwesten von weilimdorf das Lindental, von den Weilemern liebevoll das "Lindentäle" genannt, in den "Augenwald" hinein. Geteerte Wege und naturbelassene Wiesen locken nicht nur die Radler sondern auch die Skater an.
Im Waldgebiet entspringt der Lindenbach, auch befindet sich am Ende des offenen Tales am Waldrand die "Hörnleshas"-Quelle, das sogenannte "Hasenbrünnele". Für Kinder jedes Mal wieder ein Erlebnis, dieses unter einem alten Baum entspringenden Bächlein hat einen gewissen Zauber...Wer übrigens ein Stück in den Wald hinein wandert, stößt auch auf ein paar letzten Ruinen der ehemaligen Burg Dischingen

At just under 300 m above sea level[LUBW 1], the quite short Lachengraben flows from the east at the end of the town into the open course again, in which direction the Lindenbach now also flows under its name. It crosses into the town district of Ditzingen, crosses under the A 81 before its settlement area and is reinforced in the town by its most important tributary, the Beutenbach, whose sources are also located a little further northwest on the Solitude.

Shortly after this, it flows at around 295 m above sea level. NHN not far from Ditzingen Castle, it flows into the middle Glems from the right. After its 10.6 km long course with an average bed gradient of about 16 ‰, it flows about 181 meters below its source.
