Stickhausen Castle was built in the 15th century to ward off enemy attacks from Oldenburg. Today only the fortified tower, in which there is a local museum, is preserved. Located on the Jümme, you can see it coming from the west from a distance. Recently again in the possession of the public authorities and restored by them, it is a real highlight in the region that is worth visiting. However, be careful when walking around the ramparts! Numerous crows fend off hundreds of unwanted guests with their excrement from all - I say - pipes. Seen in this light, there is still sharp shooting in the castle today.
Directly around the fortress, however, you are protected from the black-feathered artillery.
