The church is on the southern edge of the village of Satemin, which was built in the round shape typical of the Hanoverian Wendland region with magnificent gable views that are well worth seeing.

The exact year of construction of this small church cannot be determined, but it is probably around 1300. The mighty tower made of field stones must have served as a defense tower. Of particular beauty is the east gable with Gothic pointed arches. The church was extensively renovated inside and out in 2005 and 2006.
