The canton of Fribourg captivates hikers in search of adventure: from the foothills of the Alps to the lakes and the charming towns of the region.
The hiking trails around Fribourg lead through remote and unspoilt natural landscapes as well as through culturally and architecturally interesting towns and villages. Your hikes will always be exciting and varied.
This Collection of 14 routes offers you an overview of what Fribourg has to offer: leisurely paths along lakeshores, trails across meadows and fields as well as exciting routes over mountains and through gorges. The imposing peaks of the Teysachaux, the Kaiseregg and the Moléson, as well as Lake Schwarzsee, Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten are just some of the beautiful hiking destinations you can discover. These hikes will show you the canton, its culture and its history.
The routes in this Collection each have a different level of difficulty and are between 8 and 16 kilometres (5–10 mi) long. The greatest influence on the difficulty is the difference in altitude. Take your time and take enough breaks to admire the landscape from on high.
Some trails start in towns that you can reach by bus or train. Others can be reached by car. In any case, all these trails are worth the trip, because the beautiful landscapes in the canton of Fribourg will inspire you with every step.
