The peak of Schenon, located in the Latemar group, is part of an area of great interest for mountain lovers and ski mountaineering. The Latemar itself, whose highest peaks exceed 2800 meters, offers breathtaking routes and views, with its characteristic profile that stands out among the Dolomites. Origins of the Name:
The name "Latemar" seems to derive from the Ladin "cresta de Lac-te-mara", which means "Crest on Lake Carezza", suggesting a link with the famous Alpine lake.
