    The history of Zörbiger beet juice goes back to 1870.
    "The Zörbig juice boy
    The place was quite desolate and empty,
    people talk about it back and forth.
    But someone had long understood
    a landmark in Zörbig will always be missed.
    Herr Scholz took the chisel and a stone

      Dubrowsky further writes the following about the reason for setting up the fountain figure: "Unfortunately there is not enough time and space to tell the story of the Zörbiger beet juice. After all, that will not be absolutely necessary, because the Zörbiger juice has long since established itself through its quality good name. It has been a sweet delicacy since 1870, popular and sought after by young and old in town and country, and in glasses with the finch is a friendly greeting from Zörbig even far outside. It made sense to symbolize this idol and "To carve a Zörbig juice boy in stone. And so a work of art was created that the local master stonemason and sculptor Scholz created. The statement is natural. And because it is a fountain figure, it will be enthroned on the market fountain in the middle of the liveliness." ("Freedom" from July 13, 1957)

      A "Hitler boy" stood in its place as a fountain figure until 1945. It was built together with the base and fountain in 1936.

      The "Zörbiger Bote" from May 6, 1936 reports: "As can already be seen, excavation work has begun on the market square. In the middle of the lime trees planted last year, a well with a diameter of 6 meters is being built. This has a concrete base, while the fountain surround is provided with clinker bricks. A porphyry column protrudes in the middle, on which a walking Hilter boy stands. 60 cm wide slabs are placed around the fountain. The market square will be further beautified by this construction It should be mentioned that no public money was needed to build the fountain, but that the costs were covered by donations from many Zörbig people."
