The poet Victor Blüthgen (04.01.1844 - 02.04.1920) was born the son of the post office forwarder on Langen Strasse. After attending the Francke Foundation and studying theology in Halle, Blüthgen turned to writing after a short time as a private tutor, working as an editor until 1880, including for the magazine "Die Gartenlaube", then freelance in Berlin and Freienwalde. He earned particular merit with children's and young adult literature. He always felt connected to his hometown of Zörbig, of which Victor Blüthgen was made an honorary citizen in 1904. In 1914, Bad Freienwalde awarded him honorary citizenship and both cities named a street after him.

Large parts of his literary estate are in the possession of the Heimat-Verein Zörbig e.V.. The poet is recognized in the encyclopedias of several countries, in the Oderlandmuseum Bad Freienwalde and in the Heimatmuseum Zörbig. In 1995, the Heimat-Verein Zörbig e.V., supported by funding from the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the district and the municipality, published stories and poems with the title "Oh, who could do that!" in a small volume. The memorial is located on Birkenallee, near the sports hall.
