The path to the former fortified church leads through a Gothic archway from the early 16th century. The archway is what is left of a strong wall that used to protect the church and churchyard and provided refuge for the villagers in times of need. The church is in an exposed, elevated position in the immediate vicinity of an old farm. The late Gothic hall church from 1328 has been rebuilt several times. The mighty west tower dates from 1508, the octagonal tower top was added later as a half-timbered structure.

A very beautiful church to look at. It begins with the beautiful cottage gardens, which you pass on the way to the church, followed by the interesting Gothic archway, until you reach the (open) church on the outskirts.
Inside the church, in the chancel, there are remains of wall paintings from the beginning of the 16th century, an ancient altar and a glass ornament designed in the 1960s and facing east.
