The Elena refuge is a nice stopover refuge on the TMB at an altitude of 2,062 m, perfect for a short break before tackling the ascent of the Grand Col Ferret. It faces the thousand-year-old Pré de Bard glacier. It is named after the granddaughter of a local shepherd.

Rifugio Elena (2061 m) is a very large mountain hut (127 beds) in the upper Val Ferret on the way to the Grand Col Ferret, important TMB base, well equipped, for some almost a mountain hotel. rifugioelena.it
Northwest of the hut, the glacier tongue of the Pré-de-Bar glacier opens on the south side of Mont Dolent.
