Over Pam
I originally come from Scotland 🏴 but moved to Germany when I was 17.
I lived and worked for Lufthansa ✈️ in Germany 🇩🇪 until I took early retirement and moved to South Africa 🇿🇦 in 2016.
I love wildlife 🐘🦒🦓 and anything to do with the outdoors. 🥾🎒🚴♀️
As water is so scarce here in SA 🇿🇦 I’m amazed at all the dams, so I’m constantly looking for new ones to visit. 🌊
I have a YouTube channel for anyone who is interested in short wildlife videos 📹 under pam zirkel. Several times a week, I volunteer at a children's center for orphans and vulnerable children.
The children come to the center after school, have lunch 🍽️ then twice a week I help with English reading 📚 and twice a week with Maths ✖️➗➕➖
I organise a Christmas 🎅🏼 party for these children, which means 100 shoe boxes 📦 have to be filled each year.
Two of our supermarkets in town donate the food 🥦🥕🫑 for the party.

What a wonderful day!! Thousands and thousands of animals and although it’s very dry and hot, I found most of them 🤣 From lion to leopard to wilddog, not forgetting ellies and buffalo and just the general game. Staying the night at Balule Bush camp with no electricity and hyenas running along the fence line!

Kruger stelt nooit teleur!
Welkom terug in Kruger Park, Pam.
Wat een welkom was dat vandaag.
Een zeer, zeer warme dag, de temperatuur steeg tot 44°, maar ondanks de hitte zag ik een verbazingwekkende hoeveelheid dieren!
Het begon goed met de cheetajongens die de S36 bezoeken.

When I left Hoedspruit in the middle of May, the Blyde Dam was still spilling, as they say here! Now we’re in winter and there has been no rain for several months, Bivy had to open the sluice so the farmers down stream can still have water for irrigation for their fruit plantations. This weekend the thermometer is heading up to 35° and sunny - a perfect winter‘s day in the Lowveld.

Ik heb mijn tour compleet verpest en weet niet hoe ik het terug kan draaien...
Het was 7 km zoals altijd en ik was er ongeveer 2 uur mee bezig toen ik bovenaan stopte voor koffie.

It is so very dry the bush here just now - being winter, but lovely sunshine and blue sky and temperatures reaching 29° ☀️ Such a treat meeting 3 giraffe 🦒 on my walk this afternoon.

My car was so dirty after standing for 3 months under the carport so after all the washing was done yesterday, it was the car‘s turn today! Nice and squeaky clean 🧽🚗
