ShAFF

ShAFF is calling on people who love the outdoors to seek out acts of adventurous rebellion, find the rebel in yourself, come together with your tribe, and use your adventurous skills and spirit to re-shape the world for the better.

With Komoot we are on a mission to prove just how much fun you can have when you choose a low carbon way to travel. Our goal is to get as many low carbon miles as possible tagged on ShAFF’s Komoot profile. Every 4km that someone walks or cycles rather than drives is 1kg of carbon emissions prevented from being emitted. How much CO2 can you help us remove from the road in the run up to the festival, just by making the journey part of the adventure?

It's often said the journey is half the fun and with ShAFF as the destination you can't fail to have an adventure packed weekend! Explore the Collections for ideas and inspiration - you can use the route suggestions in the "Make the Journey Part of the Adventure" Collection to journey from specific hubs around the city - how about car-pooling or using public transport to a hub, then get together with your tribe and head to ShAFF under human power! Remember, we are trying to clock up as many kilos of carbon removed from the road as possible so any part of the journey you make without driving has a positive impact.

You don't have to travel the whole way under your own steam - though we'd love it if you did and there are some amazing Komoot packages up for grabs for the most creative, unusual, rebellious, inspiring journeys that bring you to ShAFF this March. Find your own low-carbon way to get here and tag ShAFF on Komoot to be in with a chance of winning a free worldwide mapping bundle worth £29.99. Find out more at shaff.co.uk/lowcarbonadventure

Get the whole family or neighbourhood involved! Why not throw in an Act of Rebellion, our new theme for 2020, to the journey? - clean the trash from the trail, stop along the way to support sustainable businesses or utilize a unique human-powered mode of transport - space hopper anyone?

So, get creative, fire up your adventure active imagination, think outside the box and whether you are travelling to ShAFF from Abbeydale Park or Azerbaijan, the Komoot planning tool will help make getting to ShAFF all part of the adventure!

The full ShAFF 2020 programme can be viewed via the ShAFF website and tickets are now on sale. ShAFF is making a pledge to the planet in 2020, see the ShAFF mission statement on the website and don't forget to sign up to the ShAFF newsletter to keep updated with all the ShAFF latest!

My name is Tina Page and I will be the face of ShAFF for all your Komoot adventures. Tag ShAFF in the Kommot app to share your low-carbon journeys in the run up to ShAFF and your plans for getting to the festival. I can't wait to see what you are up to!

I love all forms of human-powered travels and in 2017 set a record for the National 3 Peaks Challenge by ditching the car and running between the Peaks on a 500 mile trail run through Britain. I am currently busy with my latest challenge - #RunningtheSummits - running 1000 mountains of the British Isles in support of Mountain Rescue and discovering you don't have to go too far to find fantastic outdoors experiences. There are three official 'mountains' in the Peak District but many other fabulous lower hills which I couldn't resist so I ran 16 summits in the region and will be sharing those routes in the Collections on this page.

Get planning, share your journey and we can't wait to see you at ShAFF20 👍

A fabulous route to visit the two summits of Bleaklow Head and Higher Shelf Stones on this high moorland plateau. Despite the seemingly expansive and undulating moorland these two tops have mountain status! Following the iconic Pennine Way to the summit of the plateau, make a quick stop at the photogenic

It was a fabulous Spring day in the Peak District for this run over Black Hill following a section of the iconic Pennine Way. So much so I spent half the day enjoying the scenery and taking photos and video! One of the things I love most about trail running is that it's all about just enjoying being

A relatively long tour to bag a single summit but what a fantastic and diverse route with a bit of everything. I did this run quite late in the day so by the time I reached Shining Tor summit it was already dark but that gave me a sparkling view over the lights of Macclesfield on a lovely clear night

Shutlingsloe (or more correctly 'Shutlingslowe', the current name being due to a spelling error back in the 80's!) didn't technically make my 1000 Summits list as it's not a mountain or 'mini-mountain' by any mathematical definition but the hills are not all about the numbers and named for a Celtic tribe

A second opportunity to find Kinder Scout summit with a different route from the west. After the slight error of not actually visiting Kinder summit on my first big outing to Kinder summit this was the second attempt to find this notoriously difficult to locate spot . The route also included Kinder Downfall

The ultimate day out! I completed this run with a fellow trail runner in the early days of the challenge in the summer heatwave, remarkably all the streams on Kinder were dry! It's a lengthy route but the trails are fabulous and very runnable - it can be pretty boggy over Brown Knoll if you don't happen

These two hills aren't mountains by any definition but they are so pointy and photogenic I had wanted to run them ever since seeing a jaw-dropping photo in an outdoor magazine so they made my list! Their sharp lines and edges suggest the profile of a sleeping dragon and you can't visit one without the
