The last leg of my round trip began with a fantastic breakfast at my friend Stephan's. Then I headed toward the Rhine on the old "Balkantrasse" railway line. As soon as I left the noise of the A2 behind me, I immersed myself in the absolute silence of the railway cycle path of the former Westphalian Railway – 25km of the best stretch, birdsong – a blessing😇.



After that, unfortunately, I continued on busy federal highways with barely visible bike markings

Waking up to morning sun - what a joy🌞. After the first climb, I encountered the obligatory flat tire, which is perfectly acceptable after almost 700km. The hole was quickly patched in the scenic surroundings, and next to the Holte moated castle, there was a 1,000-year-old oak tree with a green canopy

After a cheesecake breakfast at the fantastic campsite in Frielendorf, today we headed through touristy no-man's-land towards Kassel. I knew Schwalm, Eder, and Fulda

Short report: 114km, 690m elevation gain. Despite the last 45 kilometers of rain, the mood is great and my legs are feeling good. 🤓🤓.
