Unlike many other islands, Heligoland does not lie on a contour line. There are two ways to advance from the Unterland with the idyllic harbor district to the Oberland, the green heart of the island: if you like it sporty, take one of the three staircases with up to 260 steps. However, the faster and at the same time more comfortable means of transport is undoubtedly the elevator on Helgoland, which takes guests up to the top (and back) in no time at all for a small fee.
