The City Hall is recognizable by its two large towers. Its construction started in 1931, but during the Second World War the works came to a standstill for a while. The building was officially inaugurated in 1950. The building, renowned for its distinctive architecture, was designed by architects Arnstein Arneberg and Magnus Poulsson. Inside are beautiful frescoes and sculptures by Norwegian artists.
