The path that starts behind the train station is great as a circular hiking trail if you use the descent under the cable car.

This path is by far not as steep as the route directly at the cable car to Endert / Cochem. A little longer because it zigzag, but with a nice view of the city.

Adventurous way, which leads ziemluch directly to the Pinnerkreuz. Is not well maintained. The main path and Moselsteig leads up under the Cochem chairlift.

We are up under the cable car, which we also liked better. Then we are down on the other side so that you can get out at the train station.

The path leads directly along the abyss, so be careful when walking, sometimes very rocky and steep, sturdy shoes are definitely required.

Very nice descent/ascent along the slope from Pinnerkreuz to Cochem train station. The path is mostly secured with railings, but sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are required.

Very nice hiking trail between Cochem train station and the Pinnerkreuz.
Partly secured with railings, but as it runs along a slope, good footwear and surefootedness are essential. There are beautiful views of Cochem and the Moselle valley along the way.

Short climb with maybe two or three good views, but I wouldn't necessarily go towards the train station again.

The path starts a bit unexpectedly behind the train station. We walked it because we wanted to get from the train station to the Moselsteig Trail. The path first leads along old vines and then becomes a bit more demanding. The reward is then a bench with a great view of Cochem, the Moselle and the Reichsburg. However, I would only recommend the path down if you have sensible equipment and, if necessary, sticks. Not all parts of the trail are secured.
