The St. Lucas Church is an Evangelical Lutheran parish church in the center of the Lower Saxony town of Scheeßel in the Rotenburg district. It is named after the evangelist Luke.

In view of the dilapidation of the old one, it was decided to build a new church. It was Pastor Adolph Johann von Finkh (1749-1797) who pushed this through against strong opposition. Demolition began in 1755 and the foundation stone for today's church was laid that same year. The church was inaugurated on Michaelmas Day in 1758. For the first time the parish singing was accompanied musically by a small organ; The local sexton and schoolmaster Ernst Anton Lackmann was the organist. In 1765 the small organ was replaced by a larger one. At the same time, the church tower, which had been destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, was rebuilt in 1765/66 after the bells that had been destroyed in the same war had been re-cast in 1646 and 1652. Further repairs and extensions to the organ were carried out in 1799, 1881 and 1934. In 1972 the current organ was finally restored and installed by the Vierdag company from Enschede / Holland and inaugurated on February 4, 1973.
