The castle Pappenheim is an experience with many highlights. In a picturesque loop of the Altmühltal, the more than 1000 years old medieval castle Pappenheim offers a rich program for visitors. It is a significant example of a two-level Adelsburg. Even today, the 300-meter-long complex with a total of 1.5 km of walls, battlements, forecourt and main castle, kennel and keep keeps an impressive picture of that era.
The castle Pappenheim is always worth a visit. Be it at one of the major castle events, such as the annual jousting tournament, or because of the huge castle complex and its outstanding importance over the entire Middle Ages - or only because of the magnificent view over the Altmühltal.
The castle complex is now lovingly restored in many parts and has with its incomparable botanical garden, the natural and hunting museum and the historical exhibitions on a wide and interesting leisure activities for all tastes
