One of the most beautiful open-air theaters in Baden-Württemberg is located on the romantic Schlossberg high above the roofs of Breisach's old town.

With magnificent views to the west across the Rhine plain to the Vosges, to the north to the Kaiserstuhl and to the south and east on the chain of Black Forest mountains, the Schlossberg with its large natural stage offers a fascinating atmosphere. The Breisach Festival, founded in 1924, has been one of the five largest open-air stages in Baden-Württemberg for years and inspires up to 18,000 spectators every year with the enthusiastic performances of their amateur actors. Professional support in direction, stage construction and make-up have been a guarantee for quality theater enjoyment for years. In addition to its own large props, the theater also has its own costume pool with countless costumes from all eras. In the season from June to September, 2 plays are performed on the weekends on the beautiful open-air stage on the Schlossberg in Breisach. On Sundays there is a performance for children and families from the young theater at 3 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday evenings at 8 p.m. there is an evening play, depending on the old classic or modern musicals.

The beautiful location under the Tulla Tower with a wonderful view of the fantastic sunsets and old trees, together with the joy of playing of the two ensembles, offer the ideal ambience for an extraordinary theater experience.
