A memorial to King Frederick Augustus I after the Wars of Liberation and his return in 1815.
The Königshöhe is a memorial dedicated to King Frederick Augustus I in 1815, following the Wars of Liberation and the victory of the allied armies over Napoleon's capture. Christian Gottlob Seidel, the then quarry owner on the Rochlitzer Berg, is considered the founder of tourist traffic on the Rochlitzer Berg. He constructed several buildings and rest areas on the Rochlitzer Berg. The Königshöhe, with its enclosed bench, was the first installation. The monument was made from locally quarried porphyry and bears the following inscription: "Great and uplifting is the sight of nature for the sensitive; more uplifting and greater is a heart for a man that thinks piously and honestly on the throne. The waves of time beat upon them only to captivate us with their new charms. Thus, Frederick Augustus's gloomy days could achieve one thing: that his people loved him more deeply than he returned on June 7, 1815."
