The sixth highest mountain in the Black Forest is with 1386 m of Stübenwasen. The Stübenwasgeripfel is not wooded. The sharp transitions to the forest show, however, that this is not a natural tree line. It is used in summer as cattle pasture, in winter as a ski resort and is accordingly strongly developed touristically, and in winter over the Stübenwasenspur reachable. In addition, lifts run from Todtnauberg on the Stübenwasen. West of the summit is since 1935 the mountain inn Stübenwasen (1270 m). It can be reached in summer via the trail between Feldberg and Notschrei and in winter over the Stübenwasenspur and thus the destination of numerous hiking tours, many visitors exceed the summit but only on the way to or from Feldberg. Behind the summit cross begins the Alpine path, one of the highest hiking trails in the Black Forest, through the alpine terrain of the northern crashes of Feldberg and Stübenwasen, it forms a special feature in the Black Forest due to its exposed location and its alpine character. A real summit can not show the Stübenwasen, it is rather a very long, high-altitude hill, from which one has however a wonderful prospect.
